Developer Options of Android
Importance
There are many options that are very useful for day to day use. Check out these 6 options and their purpose.
Enable Developer Options
Go to Settings > About Phone > Tap Build Number several times until its unlock then go to Developer options.
#1 Speed up animations
You can completely disable the animations, which would make your phone load applications as fast as your hardware permits, or even make the animations twice as fast.
If you want the fastest animations, put all three to “0.5x” and if you want no animations, put all three to “Off”. If your device has a good processor inside of it, you will see load times and general use improve drastically.
#2 Improve quality of graphics
Force 4x MSSA. This option allows you to improve the quality of graphics in games and applications that run OpenGL ES 2.0. You will notice that some games and applications will run smoother. This is done by smoothing the pixels via the Multi Sample Anti-Aliasing 4x technique.
Force GPU rendering. This also improves 2D quality of graphics in games.
***WARNING: This requires more graphics power and will probably drain your battery a bit faster.
#3 Enable USB debugging
It allows programs to access your device when it is connected to your PC via USB cord. It can be use for modification or troubleshooting purposes.
#4 Stay Awake While Charging
Android will keep your device’s screen on while charging and won’t turn it off. This often use for monitoring activity continuously.
#5 Show CPU Usage
You can view CPU usage data by toggling the Show CPU usage option to On. This information will appear on top of whatever app you’re using.
#6 Don't keep activities (AVOID USING THIS)
Don’t actually use this option unless you want to see how bad it is! It will make your phone perform much more slowly. Some users who might accidentally tick it lead their apps or system to Force Close/ Error.
Most of the other options here will only be useful to developers debugging their Android apps. You shouldn’t start changing options you don’t understand.
If you want to undo any of these changes, you can quickly erase all your custom options by sliding the switch at the top of the screen to Off.
